For once, the back end of a new BMW is not its worst angle. It officially unveiled pictures of the new BMW X3 and then outdid itself by releasing photos and pictures of the MINI Countryman. The team also reviews the a BMW X1 sDrive 2.0d with almost all the option packs fitted. Is it worth the nearly R500 000 asking price?

Very pretty

1980 heralded in an exciting era for the motor car. For most of us listening to ZACS, its the era of motoring that we grew up with. 2010, 30 years later, is no less exciting. This week we discuss the Gautrain, new technology from BMW and the leaking of the new Volkwagen Jetta images.

Have a quick dose of boring. Sure to stir the greys just a little.

We also review the BMW 530d GT and discuss the cars that changed the motoring landscape for 1980′s. Trevor van de Ven, of course, chose the most sensible option while the rest battled it out with mediocre to rubbish cars.

We had fun this past week. Tuck was off at an SA Racing Legends dinner the night we recorded the show and we had to record without him. We’re still not quite sure how he managed to get that right, just how we’re not sure what Aston was thinking when it decided to launch a mini-car. However, in the week that was, there were a couple of tight models released from BMW. Some interesting cars too. The three-strong team get to do without Tuck’s butting-in, once again managing to disagree on model launches and two of the road tests of very different cars.

This June 9th episode of ZA Car Show only has three of the regulars – our dear news reader, Trevor van de Ven, is absent. Apparently he had “real work” to do.
But the show must go on! Included in this solemn and serious episode are the Jaguar XF, BMW M3 Edition, Peugeot 5008. We also talk about the launch of the BMW Z4, which Christo attended, and throw around a bit of conjecture to see why BMW’s newest sports model has gone a bit soft…
