This is the first show of the new year and hope that you, our loyal listeners have missed us. If you have, lucky for you, because we are back in the swing of things with the first show of 2010. While the new model lineup on an international level is a bit thin, there are a couple of models destined for SA shores which will certainly keep the South African motoring press busy most weeks.

This show kicks off with a brief summary of the North American International Auto Show which jump starts the motoring calendar each year in Detroit. The flavour was electrifying, which is interesting since South Africa might be pushed along that route sooner than we might think with Government’s proposal impose emissions taxes on new imported vehicles.

He even brought with some of his own news and insights.  We are without Tuck this week, while he struggles to get his race car ready. We told him cannot be referred to as the tame/professional racing driver if he doesn’t actually ply his skills. It was motivation enough to get him back on the track.

That is an intimidating view

International news dominates with many new vehicles breaking cover ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show. If you are in the market for a new car for around R400 000 (BMW 325 money) then you have to listen to review of the Chevy Lumina SS.
