The team is down to two people this week, with Christo watching some Afrikaans rap star while Tuck works on a race car for the weekend of historics (or is that hysterics?) racing. Patrick Gearing and Trevor van de Ven, man the mics and mixing desk to bring you the one of the leanest ZACS episodes in a long time.

In this episode we talk about the South African launch of the Alfa MiTo MultiAir-engined models as well as the introduction of a new roadster from Nissan, the 370Z. Most notably, however is the review by Trevor on the Hyundai i30, a car which can [and should] change the motoring landscape of South Africa.

In the final episode of ZA Car Show for 2009 the team wraps up a couple of outstanding reviews and goes through a list of their favorite motoring experiences for the 2009. After some time without electricity at the studio and the festive time of the year, ZA Car Show returned for the penultimate episode of 2009. The team is joined by a representative, Carmen Du Preez from Rager, a mobile phone-based traffic management system; Carmen helps shed some light on how this system works and why its important to register.  We also discuss South Africa’s Car of The Year and some new, but pointless models from Mercedes and VW.

Just before Frankfurt, a flurry of releases and reveals took place: thankfully, we cover just the most interesting ones. In next week’s show, we’ll do a post-Frankfurt wrap up and sort the wheat from the chaff.  This weeks best news is the unveiling of the  tribute to Mercedes-Benz’s classic 300 SL and possible McLaren SLR replacement, the Mercedes-Benz SLS. Another funny red car made the reveal with the Ferrari-tuned little Abarth 695 Tributo. This week we also pit two hot-hatch price competitors together with very different characters; MINI’s JCW goes head to head with the Golf VI GTI.

The final version of this is actually one of the prettiest Mercs in recent times
