ZA Car Show is sad to learn about the passing of Mr. Steve Dlamini, motoring editor for City Press.

Riding his motorcycle, he was involved in a head-on collision with a vehicle, en route to the A1 GP at Kyalami.

Steve was always a friendly face at each motoring function and always had a smile, a joke and informed opinion to share.

He will be dearly missed by us, his other motoring colleagues, friends and, most importantly, his wife Berenice and their two young children.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew him.

Ride and drive safe, guys. Save a prayer for our friend and his family.

Episode 23 of ZA Car Show, and our second week with the new intro theme. Doesn’t it just sound grand?
Perhaps not as grand as our content line-up, with Patrick, Christo and the Trevors talking about some pre-Geneva launches, Subaru’s lower-priced WRX hatch and reviews on the Honda Jazz, as well as the face lifted Audi A3 Sportback TDI: a car that can park itself.

We’re rapidly heading towards a half a year’s worth of podcasts and luckily the manufacturers are starting to take note. Not only is ZA Car breaking more news than any other traditional motoring media in South Africa, but we are even reporting more accurately – more about that in Episode 23 next week.

The team covers new car news from around the world and the team gives you a couple of thoughts on the new Ford Fiesta 1.6 3-door Titanium which we all got to drive.

We’ve reached our 21st episode milestone and celebrate with one of our most fun shows to date. We discuss the latest news from the auto industry including the resignation of Chris Bangle who’s leaving to design …er…bangles; the Renault Clio Facelift and revival of the Citroen DS badge. The team also reviews the surprisingly good FIAT Grande Punto TJet and Audi A3 Convertible while wrapping it all up with by announcing the winner of the TomTom competition and helping a listener choose a car. Very entertaining, even if we have to say so ourselves.
