In Episode 7 of ZA Car Show, we discuss a couple of motoring topics without Christo at the helm of the computer. Instead the three remaining commentators, Patrick Gearing and Trevor’s Squared managed to cover the following topics:

  • VW pulls the plug on Seat SA (clicky on the blue part to read the official letter)
  • BMW announces the Brilliance Splendor, not really, actually a BMW 3-Series facelift – BMW jealous of Audi’s daytime running lights
  • Audi SA alludes to the Audi A3 convertible – ZACS guesses prices and get it right
  • Rumor mill: BMW X2
  • Rumor mill: MINI Clubman Crossover
  • Nissan spruces up the Livina range with the X-Gear, nice looking car at a nice price
  • ZA Car Show launches its sales training course. In a market where car sales are lagging, we dispense free advice on how to sell cars. Next time we expect payment. Get a hold of us on email for further training courses.

  1. Great show. Could not agree more about the pathetic service of car dealerships! I have found salesman to be apathetic, unexciting and you almost get the feeling that you are selling the idea of buying a car from them. While it cannot be put down to a particular brand, dealerships should ensure that their salesman are operating at a particular standard.

I have had only one sublime experience with a salesman who took me through the whole lot, test drive, looking at figures, getting to know me and he got to know my requirements. This all after telling him I was looking at buying a car in the next four months. You can guess where I will be going first when ready now.

Salesman (in general) also don’t work hard enough to make something happen for you – they never get back to you and are totally unmovable on how to make things easier for you. Problem was that they treated their customers like dirt when things were ridiculously good because they knew another customer was around the corner and now they are miserable!

  2. Congratulations and thank you for excellent talk.
But why no more shows since 19/9/2008???
    One topic you could discuss:
“The irrelevance of Dealer Price Guide” (not sure of the title but you know what book I mean…)
